Dong quai has been used for painful or irregular menstrual periods, menstrual cramps or weakness; inability to conceive children, and the "change of life" (menopausal symptoms). It has also been used for anemia, headache, high blood pressure and arthritis, as well as for preventing and treating allergies, and for bowel/bladder conditions.
