A bit of background--

I, Linda, grew up in the Bedford area as a mountain farm girl with the independence and self-sufficiency of my Scotch-Irish ancestors, which led to a desire to take care of myself rather than leave that to others. That in turn led me to learning about alternative health choices. Ken, my husband, grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and is an ordained minister. He's now director of The Summit, a retirement community in the Lynchburg, VA area. He's also my partner in The Well just as he is my partner in life.

We began with a booth at a local festival in 1996, had fun, and did shows for quite a while. It grew into a huge task because our product line kept getting larger. Then for several years we did mail order only. In March of 2002 we opened our first storefront in a tiny space about a block from where we are now. We moved into our present airy and spacious accomodations in February of 2003. I remember this building being a J.J. Newberry "five & dime" store when I was a child. It still has the stamped tin ceiling, in perfect condition. You must come visit!
